Settings for a 60-2 that has "holes" instead of "teeth
« on: October 04, 2010, 08:29:16 pm »
Hi All,

I just bought a VEMS that i will be installing on a Volvo 6 cylinder "whiteblock" (60-2, VR Sensor) - but the flywheel has "holes" instead of "teeth". In other words it had 58 holes drilled arounf it and a flat spot where 2 holes are "missing".

Does this affect my trigger settings? I am guess it just shift the trigger event 3 degrees but I'm not so sure.

I am converting from Megasquirt, which worked ok.

My Megasquirt Trigger settings appear to be exactly the same as are used for the BMW M20, so I am assuming he same applies here?

Just wondering if there's something I need to do about the backwards "polarity" of the flywheel itself. I guess not as it worked ok in megasquirt...

Any thoughts? I'll make a build thread in a few weeks when I have the VEMS in hand!

Cheers,

-Ken
