My BMW E30 w/ S52 Turbo

Well as i'm new here, i'd thought i would share my project.  Its my second VEMS project, the first being a VW Rabbit running on 2.2 (probably will upgrade at somepoint)

So i've been running vems 3.3 on the BMW for about a year now (off and on due to engine blow)

The car is a 1990 325i, with a 3.2L 24v engine swapped in from an M Coupe.  The engine is now fully rebuilt with forged internals and compression of 8.5:1

Up until about a week ago i've been running wasted spark, banked injection on firmware 1.0.45.  I've recently configured my cam sensor and am now running full sequential. I'd say the car is running a little smoother. Next step is bigger injectors and more boost!  Plus i'll be migrating to 1.1.18 soon.  ;D

Cool! i just saw it was listed on the site today. should i wait for a formal release?

Also wanted to share this little debug tool i have been using on my setup. i'm sure everyone can relate to how difficult it can be to understand the configurations and how changes effect things and if things are actually doing what you want them to do. Long story short, i came across this low cost 16 channel USB logic analyzer and 2 channel scope. I've hardwired (for now) the logic section into the gates of the injection / ignition FET's. I also wired in the two trigger inputs (i'm using hall sensors)

This allowed me to get a good insight on the timing of all the events, and helped to get the car running sequentially without spending hours of cranking. it took about 10 minutes  ;D

That turbo looks like a tight fit  :)

Any more info on the scope - manufacturer, where you can buy it, how much?

Looks like a handy little tool.

That scope is now top of my birthday list!  What a neat looking device.

I always like to see someone make the best use they can of an engine bay.  It looks purposeful. :D
Interesting you say sequential is smoother.  I really must get that trigger disc fitted in the TVR and give it a go.  The sensor is there already...

its been a while since i've updated this, verses just asking lots of questions alll the time :)

the car is currently running on 1.1.26, full sequential and making around 25psi.

I recently took the car for a little tuning, and was happy with the results.

first pull from my street tuning yielded 460whp.

we added some timing, and got up to 562whp / 587 torque!

the car is a beast to handle.

i had just upgraded to 63lbs injectors, and it looks like i should have gone with atleast 75. I was running 100% duty cycle at the top of the dyno chart.

Next things on the list are:
 -camber adjusters in the rear (help with traction)
 -replace snow performance meth kit with aquamist (for failsafe features,etc)
 -knock sensors
 -slicks
 -8 point cage

We were experiencing some boost pressure fluctuation during tuning. I'm contributing it to either some small leaks around my direct port meth nozzles or i also discovered the hose on my 4bar map sensor isn't very tight and has moved from when i first installed it.

i'll clean up some of these small issues and probably make a couple more runs to crack 600

Boost spiked to 25, then dropped off to around 20 due to leaks (i'm assuming)

Nice numbers, the engine sounds strong.
Shame the dyno operator didnt seem to know what he was working with ;)
