I am getting ready to upgrade my firmware and move from MT to VT
as my config is super old I just started from scratch using the default 1.198 config as a base
I think I have almost everything set up but I can't get the one conflicting to go away
I have my IAC wired to INJG pin 6 of the ec18
and VT says I have a conflict with the unused (no boxed checked) InjGroup 7

how do I fix this?

updated with fix no conflicts now .->my config http://www.vems.hu/files/sly/alfa_75/VERDE.vemscfg

Can you post your config in a box.net account or something? I'll try to take a look for you.

You have 4cylinders? So put injector count "4" instead of "8" . This will solve the problem.

In first post config you have 8 injectors! (not cylinders)

I don't see 8 any where. if I did it is a typo

I have a conflict with UNUSED InjGroup 7 that is my problem. I use the first 6 injectors as injectors and fire them in pairs so I only use InjGroup 0, InjGroup 1, InjGroup 2, for injectors the rest should be free

I use INJG pin 6 of the ec18 for IAC but vemstune says it conflicts with the UNUSED injGroup 7. this is where I have a problem
if it is UNUSED why is it saying conflict??

as you can see no boxes checked for injGroup 7

still no go. on the bench with a spare ecu I run the trigger and I see the RPM go up in VT but I get no outputs at all. no injector or spark or any outputs at all.
the boot loader is old but I can't update as it is not locked. is this disabling all outputs?
the cal is done so it is not in safe mode as lest VT does not show safe mode.

How are you monitoring the outputs?

My test set up with a led on each output.(all outputs) and my USB stingray scope to playback a trigger wheel.

it seem to work OK with the older FW
but vemstune crashed while uploading and must have put in some garbage. so now if I load anything past 1.1.87  VT just hangs on the parsing or will reset a few times and not connect to the ecu Sad

I am kinda stuck on this one I do not know what the new boot loader will do, maybe it is the fix for this. but I can not connect to the ISP on this one with ether the atmel avrISP mkII or the PP programer.  and the boot loader updater in VT say I need a locked ECU I am guessing it need some fuse set.
I have been using a newer 3.2 on the bench than the one in the car 3.0 or 3.1 I was hoping not to have to tear it out. but if I have to ISP the bootloader or fuses I guess I should just do it.

but I like to test everything out on the bench before I try it on the car.

Just to be clear, injectors are inputs, but if you've had this working previously then your LEDs are going to be working fine.
What about uploading the latest release, with the latest VEMS Tune and building you config from scratch?  Just for test purposes.

That was what I was trying to do.
use the "What about uploading the latest release, with the latest VEMS Tune and building you config from scratch?"
But now I seem to have at lest the one box on the bench in some strange state where I cant get VT to connect to it if I load any FW past 1.1.87.
anything past 1.1.87 I have to short the serial on power up to force bootloader to get VT not to blowup
I have been using the 2012-01-30 version of VT
http://www.vems.hu/vt/

I am a bit confused on the "Just to be clear, injectors are inputs"  the injectors are 8 lo-side drivers that is a output.
the only inputs are the triggers and adc inputs. knock and part of the WBO2 circuits etc.
from the ECU point of view.

There's not much I can suggest if you're having to go into the boot loader (shorting the serial) to load past 1.1.87 then you seem to have a problem unique to you.

You are correct, the injector channels are low side drivers, but the power is supplied externally to VEMS, so the current flows IN to the ECU.
