Coil output stuck on when bench testing
« on: October 28, 2012, 05:45:46 am »
Hi All,
I have seen this many times when bench testing, and a new user I am introducing to VEMS voiced their concerns over it which made me think.
Basically I see random ignition outputs get stuck on for up to 3 seconds when hand turning the trigger (in this case a Nissan CAS with 24+1 wheel).
The concern is that this could lead to fried coils, say if a short cranking run left it in this error state with the output on. It seems to clear if you keep turning the trigger sensor, but definitely stays on for 3 seconds if you stop generating triggers.
Anyone know a reason for this and if there is any reason not to be concerned? Thanks!

Do you see this issue with a "Released" FW version?

I've seen this on:
1.1.81 (release)
1.1.96 (release)
1.2.6 (testing)
Happy to take a video if anyone would like. I am sure its something I am doing in my setups!
