Another stupid wheelspeed question...
« on: May 12, 2011, 03:22:14 am »
I'm looking 3.6 board, and it seems wheelspeed input (ec18 pin 8) isn't connected to anything, niether on top or bottom layer. Am I right? I'd like to use it with hall sensor on some daewoo gearbox.

Did you order the ECU assembled or bare board?
It's only wired on the assembled ECU's

I ordered bare board.
Is this enough?

Connect wire from ps2-clk to ec18 pin8
Add 5.1v zenner diode between ps2-clk and ps2-gnd
4.7K ohm resistor between +5v and ps2-clk
If you have everything under control, you\\\'re not fast enough!

I made small singleside smd pcb for this purpose, that fits ps2 header. After I confirm it works, I'll post eagle file here.

Its alive on bench...

Its same as wheelspeed cable from webshop, and fits internal ps/2 header.

Here they say that diode is 1N4728 and that diode is 3.3v is this mistake?
I want to add wheelspeed to ec18 pin8 on old v3.5 board.
How much volts is that 220nf capacitator?

If maybe someon has picture of newer board with that allready installed would be great!

I want to connect VSS input to ec18 pin8  and i noticed on my v3.5 and also newer pcb 3.6 schematic that pin 8 trace leads to this small hole (red arrow)that is connected to resistor that leads to pin 3 (blue arrow)

Is it safe to connect wheelspeed from cpu to this small hole that leads to ec18 pin8 and also goes through small resistor to pin 3 on this IC (blue arrow)

Does anyone have picture from newer factory board to check if small black resistor is on it (red arrow)

Thanks!
