Would FD RX7 coils  be any good? As these cars run silly RPM's so must have a low dwell time? Got to be better than EDIS ones?
Or what about the Mitsubishi Eclipse coils? Such as http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MSD-Mitsubishi-4-Tower-Coil-Flat-Terminals-P-N-8239_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118QQcategoryZ33689QQihZ006QQitemZ160169223586QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V

Or any one got any recomendations for something to replace my EDIS one with?

I dont know anything about the Mitsubishi coils, as you say they have to be fairly quick charging for that RPM, but I've no idea how much spark energy is needed to ignite a rotary engine.

I always point 4A-GE installs towards the Mitsubishi EVO4 coil packs, Sweeps took a punt at using the EVO5 coils:

These seem to work quite well at 2.5ms and a lot of these engines see 9500rpm on them.

FWIW I have a pair of EVO4 coils that will be available after I get the MSD EDIS coils

Yea I prob will be interested in them if you sell them, is there any part numbers on the EVO 4 or 5 coils?
I could try and see if they use them on other Mitsubishis as I have seen ones that look quite similer.

I would go and get a part number but I fear the rain would drown me on the walk to the car!

If you've seen ones that look similar and they dont cost much its worth giving them a go because you might just find a gem of a coilpack.

These ones will be for sale, technically they belong to Simon86 so you'd be needing to sort out things woth him.

Is it Ford type?
Ford used their own shape endings for spark cables . How about adapting this?

Yeah its a Ford type, I read the instructions and found that MSD say that different spark leads are needed for this coil.

If I get a chance this weekend I'll be taking mine down to the place that does the generic 8mm silicone leads and seeing what fits and the lengths available.
