Looking for a slightly larger Display Module? Look Here For The Solution

(1/8) > >>

Sprocket:
Ive been looking for a slightly larger display module than the one supplied in the web shop. The standard supply item is a little small and the Mini is a bumpy ride. LOL, driving along its difficult to just glance at the screen and it be in focus, im finding myself taking more time than i should to read the info i want. Some will say take it out the car altogether, well, i want to be a flash git :P

I have searched high and low, phoned a couple of places in the uk, but none will sell just the one, if you want 100 then its not a problem, lol. Give them their due, they were extremely helpfull :) Also not a problem finding the standard size units from the most usual suspects, Farnell, RS, and Maplins

Anyway, looking further afield, i found this in the US http://www.crystalfontz.com/products/2004l/index.html#CFAH2004LTMIJP at $46 plus $28 postage and handling. Viewable area is a little less than twice the area of the standard supply item and available in the blue and the green.

Check and be sure of the sizes on the link above

Sprocket:
A blue one is now on order ;D

Bat:
Hi,
Pics!
When it's fitted and working of course ;)
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Sprocket:
Its arived, and i couldnt wait to get it wired up :D

OMG!!! :D Its huge in relation to the diddy shop item :D :D The PCB width is about the same, but its about 1 1/2 times as long. The veiwable area is huge.

Unfortunetly, i need to source some variable resistors to set the contrast, i used the ones off the shop display, but obviously they are not the right values :-\

This will be mounted on the top in the middle of my new race dash :P I need to make a fibre glass pod for it though ;)

Ongoing :)

Bat:
Hi,
I like the look of that :)
Have you seen the new one they've done for the MS?
Apologies for swearing  :o ;)
Cheers,
Gavin :)
