here we go,
http://www.v8forum.co.uk/zip/data04-09-08.zip
Why your advance is fixed 9deg?
Engine runs over rich from 6000.
Crank signal is uneven. MAP signal - noisy.

Rob,
if i wanted to remove the cdi unit to eliminate it can i just conect the vems trigger to the negative of the coil?
or do i need to change something wthin vems?
and is Stus and my vems swappable, eg trigger wise???
as may lend him my vems to eliminate it as his car revs ok,

decided to do a test today while waiting for any advice,

set the hyfire with a rev limit of 3k
took for run and did a datalog,
and im sure its not an ignition problem,
as the datalog shows the car going lean (ecu not being triggered when no ignition) when on the limiter,
where as when it hits 6k it goes mega rich, ecu still triggering yeah?

so its either a valvetrain problem (looking into this next week, stripping engine down) or a possible ecu setting problem?, anyone agree with the ignition being clear???
im going to take the top half of the engine apart next week etc to check lifters , cam etc, could the valve springs be weak after the rolling road giving valve bounce?

datalog here:

This forum doesnt always show me new posts >:(
I dont think you can remove the CDI and still get a tacho signal because your input is hall and we'd need VR to run off the coil signal.
I dont remember Stu's setup, if you can email or pm me his serial number I'll enquire and see what the spec is.

Your reduction of fuel certainly seems to have cleaned up the lambda values, we can discount the rich mixture misfire, I'd bet the engine feels better with less fuel uptop doesnt it?

The RPM seems very spikey...

it didnt feel any different to be honest Rob,
im going to be pulling the top half apart next week to double check every thing mechanical wise mate,

regarding the hall and VR is that something inside the vems that needs changing mate?

the ve table at WOT is now lower than what it was before the rolling road  :(

Hall and VR are set up differently on the PCB.

The VE table being lower than at the rolling road is not a massive problem - it was hugely overfuelling at WOT before, at least you're burning most of the fuel you're paying for rather than passing it down your exhaust.

true,
but i was refering to the ve table i have been using prior to the RR,
which was the ve table dnb did for me which it ran real good on mate,

thanks for clearing that up regarding the VR and Hall mate,
so mines Hall trigger then yeah?
