trigger errors w new unit
« on: October 20, 2008, 11:05:48 am »
hello
we got a replacement unit from vems and are struggeling to get it to work
we've tried
2 different types of 60-2 triggerwheels
changed the position of the sensor
changed the resistance of the sensor
tested on anothr working car, just copied the msq file over and still same problem

we get trigger errors all the time on higher rpm and the unit turns off...
firmware is 1.073 and it runs on 4cyl porsche with batch fire, 1 vr sensor (simple setup)

is there a possibility that the unit left factory broken?

thanks!

I've never heard of anything like that, trigger errors yes but never the unit turning off... Although triggers always find new and interesting ways of causing problems so you can never be totally sure.

What sort of voltage are you getting at higher RPM?

I have experience when unit turn off sparks, when error is more than one teeth.

I suggest connect o-scope and watch what happens.
I had problems when 60-2 disc originally used for hall sensor, gives unusable signal with VR sensor.
