Title: 3D map for Variable Valve Timing
Post by: Wolf_Tm on January 29, 2014, 08:54:28 am
Hi All,
is it possible to 3D map the VVT according to MAP/RPM?
I had a first look at the Vems viki and Vems Tune option, but it seems to me that it's not possible?
Thanks.

Ah, so we are saying the same thing:
as far as I know, a vvt angle table according to rpm vs map (2 axys) is a 3D table, because the graphic result of such a map will be a 3 dimensions graph.

Anyway, where in VemsTune can I setup X and Y axis for the VVT table?!
Can't find it, thanks.

Hello Wolf_Tm,

3D map for VVT is available in firmware 1.2.20 and up. Make sure to update your VemsTune to latest ini's (Preferences->Update files manually). Axis is set according to VE control table strategy setting. (Alpha-N TPS, SD MAP).

Best regards, Dave

Thanks Dave!
I found the 1.2.20 on the web and downloaded/installed it.
I close and restart Vems Tune, but when I opened again a file that I made, it is still "firmware info 1.2.11" and "Parameters config: not applied till Vems Tune Restart".
How can I update my old config file to 1.2.20?
Sorry but I searched a lot and didn't find how to do it without an ecu phisically connected.
Thanks

Hello  Wolf_Tm,

You could open up the default firmware config 1.2.20, that should give you an good idea what it looks like. (without ecu connected)

Best regards, Dave

Topic is about what?

3D graphical representation. Or VVT angle control versus rpm and MAP?

With new Vemstune also old firmwares allow to tune on 3D graph.

But control strategy from beginning was 3D. Not just angle vs rpm.

Hi Ginst,
I was told that vems couldn't 3d map vvt, so I asked here to be sure.
Then I downloaded vems tune, played with it a bit and discovered that there do is a vvt 3d map.
Given that F1 and wiki were of no help, here is a new question:
what those axes represent on the vvt 3d map?
I read from you that they hopefully are rpm and map... Perfect!
If it was written somewhere I won't had to ask!
So which is which? X is rpm and Y is load, that is to say or alpha or map or maf in their scales?
As I saw no indications and explanations no where.
Thanks
Wolf

As written above: MAP vs rpm when speed-density, TPS vs rpm if Alpha-N.

Direction of axis - same as VE table.

same as VE table.

Oh, perfect.
Thank you.
