Well I have bought my self a new laptop - I need one of the USB to serial adapters, I know these can be troblesome at the best of times ( Personal experience of this happening ). So anyone any experience if these ones are OK from Maplin ?

Kind regards

I've only ever used ones from these people:
http://www.easysync.co.uk/
I use FTDI ones at work (which is what easysync seem to be supplying) they're fantastic, never had a problem.
Recomendation noted and 1 ordered ( with the blue flashing data lights ;D ;D ).
Fingers crossed it will arive tomorow ( paid for express delivery ) even with this its came to the same price as the maplin one.

I have one of those Maplins ones but I can't tell you if it works or not ::)
It uses the prolific chipset and looking at the megasquirt forums, it seems a bit hit 'n miss but I see some reports of using the latest drivers may help.
