Title: Fuel pump pulses with key on engine off.
Post by: qwkswede on April 16, 2010, 11:36:31 AM
I'm trying to diagnose a problem with my fuel pump output. When you turn on the key the fuel pump runs through its 2 second priming pulse, then I hear the relay click off for a split second and then the pump runs for another 2 seconds. sometimes this cycle repeats 5-10 times. Sometimes not at all. I suspected false triggers on my hall sensor tricking the ecu into thinking the engine is cranking. but I can't confirm this. The rpm gauge in VEMSTune never moves. There is no rpm signal in the datalogs.

Here is my current setup:
vemstune version from 3/08/2010
firmware 1.70
36-1 tooth wheel
hall sensor Hamlin Electronics. (maybe too sensitive?)
4 cylinder engine running wasted spark coil packs.

Thanks guys. I'm making great progress here with your help.

Channel collision huh? The fuel pump output is like an error signal? Let me know if you see anything in here. I couldn't see anything in vemstune myself.

Thanks in advance...

That link should get you my config file.
