Title: Short Pico Injectors

I want to fit the shorter 38mm length Pico type injectors to my Jenveys so that the fuel rails sit lower (allowing a filter baseplate to be more easily fitted to the bodies)

I don't really want to buy new ones but does anybody know what sort of cars would have these fitted from the factory?  I am looking for a 4cylinder engine with approx 190hp (or about 300cc/min injectors) as these would approximately match my engine.

Possibly some of the newer Renaults too - might be wrong though.

Yes you are right Rob, in fact most newer French cars seem to use them.

I have found that the newer ones all have split injection spray patterns though, so that they spray into 2 ports on a 16V head.

Ducati bikes use them and these have a single spray which would work for me, though I think finding a set of 4 (as they were on the V twin Monsters) will be almost as expensive at buying new ones

I wonder if the split pattern will make the slightest difference with regards to their position in the Jenveys.

Sorry what I meant was all the French car ones have a split spray..  If I buy new ones I can have either single or split.

I'm not sure if it would make any difference or not a single spray will spray into the port, whereas the split spray would spray on the walls of the manifolds/intake ports.

Personally if the throttle bodies are a fair distance away from the ports, on top of an inlet runner, I'd give the cheaper split spray ones a go.
As I understand it (and I have a tenuous grip on this sort of thing at the best of times) in a vaccuum the fuel is drawn to the walls, and at atmospheric pressure the air speed will whip the fuel nicely into the air to produce a homogeneous charge in the engine - *

Cheap is a quality that overcomes many faults.

* - This may be total bollocks though.
