Title: INJECTORS SETTINGS-OPENING
Post by: chencho16000 on November 25, 2007, 08:11:01 PM
WHAT VALUES WOULD HAVE TO INTRODUCE CONSIDERING THAT THE INFLATION TIME IS 12.5 ms?

Req fuel (ms):  6,49* (1.800 c.c./4 cyl./240cc/min) = 12,168  ???

I make the req_fuel as being:
6.49 * (1600 / 4 / 240)
= 6.49 * (400 / 240)
= 6.49 * 1.667
= 10.8

I'd start with an Inj effective rampup (us) of around 1000

you have different engine size values?

I make it 12.2 Rob.

But I agree with starting with effective rampup of 1000.  Once you've got a decent VE map done, it's probably possible to refine the injector opening values somewhat.

My mistake
1600 is Ford RS, but chencho16000 has a Zetec bottom end.

Yes, my engine is Zetec 1800 CC, with CVH 1600 head.

Appreciated colleagues:

If the ignition-spark are 1 3 4 2,  1 3 4 2 ....
is correct that injection outputs must be 1 4 8 2, on table h(0) injectors outputs?

It is certain that table injector outputs,  it will be matched with spark/ cilynder?

Or, I will need some other configuration? :-\ :-\

Yes, setting your injectors to squirt at the same time as ignition is a good idea, the matching is based on the values set in
Settings->Injector Settings
Alternate banks from h[0]
and
Settings->Igniton Settings
Ignition outputs in use h[2]

You need to match the outputs/banks in the setup

I observe that the injectors do not loosen fuel???????????? :-[ :-[
From where comes the problem?

Do you mean that the injectors are not passing fuel?

Is your fuel pump priming?

Are the injectors powered?  Do you hear them 'clicking'?

I hear fuel pump when ignition on.
Injectors powered, sure.
I donÃ,´t hear "clicking" from injectors.

Okay, so we need to now check the wiring through from the injectors to the VEMS.  Which wires are connected to each injector - and what  pins do they connect to on the EC36plug?

The connections are the following ones:
Injectors outputs:
Injector A- 1 cylinder: econ.36....pin 7
    "      B - 2     "     : econ.36....pin 19
    "      C - 3     "     : econ.36....pin 8
    "      D - 4     "     : econ.36....pin 20

h(0) table injectors outputs          Injectors Settings
0.....................1                       Injector opening
1.....................4                         Inj.open time @13.2 (US)--12.5
2.....................8                         Inj.Effective rampup   "   --1008 ????
3.....................2                         Injrampup_battfac      "   --4080 ????
                                                 battfac                     "   -- 304  ????
                                                 Inj.pwm DC%             "   -- 100.0 ????
                                                 Inj.pwm peak time (ms)   --  1.0    ????
                                                Injectors firing
                                                  Divider----------------------1           ????
                                                  Alternate banks from h(0) ---3.0          ???
Fire banks while cranking ----alternate ????

Are correct the values that the sign has? to its side?
I believe that I am near that the engine starts. ::)

All of that looks quite okay - can you confirm that the wires in the loom actually connect the injectors up correctly?
After that, what we do depends on what test tools you have there, do you have a digital meter that has a pulse counter on it?  Failing that a 12v bulb that can be inserted into the place of an injector so you can see it flash when the injector is signalled to fire.

It would be good also if you can datalog your starting attempts - its very difficult for me to guess whats happening and datalogging helps me just a little.

The injectors do not receive signal.
I have reviewed and verified the connections and are correct.
I have put in light bulb of 12 v and she does not ignite.
I must recharge firmware?

This is very strange.
Please datalog the test so that I can see what is going on from the VEMS side.
Before you reflash the firmware please make sure that you download the configs and tables.

Please, how I do datalog test? :-\
Where can I see,read instructions?

Using MegaTune: File->Datalogging->Record... Save the file somewhere that you will be able to find it easily.

Post a copy, and you can also use Phil Tobin's awesome MegaLogViewer application: http://www.efianalytics.com/MegaLogViewer

I enclose by mail datalog from this morning.
File .msq too.

Thanks Rob.

The fuel PW was zero - there seem to be some issues with the config related to fuel and to the MAP setup - new MSQ on the way to you.

Now, we have injector's signal. How can we modify/adjust the pulse width values? Theoricaly I must have 12.2ms. The megatune screen shows 8,9 and I don't know the way to increase this value.  :-\

At what point do you want a 12.1ms pulse?

This chart shows the things that effect the fuel pulsewidth.

And antonch has written about the fuel setup here:

I want 12.2-12.5 ms when running.

I try to start the engine and I canÃ,´t. ???
Battery voltage: 12.8V
RPM engine gauge : 100 to 150 rev x min.
Spark : good
Idle valve: is it necesary to start?

Idle valve is not needed.

Can you smell fuel?
Does the fuel pump run when you turn on the ignition?
