Title: Running 2 knock sensors on my v8
Post by: Tony C on July 04, 2009, 04:11:26 PM
Hi Guys,
been a while since i been on i know but due to job problems etc the car has been laid up engine less for a year nearly,
But the new engine is being fitted in the next couple of weekes and want to sort the vems loom out while the engine bay is empty,
Im going to be running wasted spark ignition this time round and wondered how i go about connecting up a pair of knock sensors?
do they need splicing together? or do they go to seperate pins on the vems?

thanks for the help in the past.

They go to separate signal pins but have a common ground.

is there a pin out for dual knocks Dave?
as i think mine only shows a single knock sensor wiring.

thanks,

I would check that all the components are on the board for the second knock channel ;) Check the shcematics and compare with your board

cheers guys

so if i have this right,
one wire from K1 and K2 both join into pin2 of EC18
the other wire from K1 goes to pin1 of EC18
the other wire from K2 goes to pin3 of EC18

and the outer shielding wire of both K1 and K2 wires go to the main sensor earth point of EC36

that look right?
