Title: Coolant type K thermocouple module
Post by: mads b (dk) on August 30, 2017, 04:13:28 pm
Hi.... I want to use a type K thermocouple with spark plug mount on my aircooled be type 1 engine....
As coolant sensor

I have this module
AD8495 Armz Thermal K-Type Thermocouple Amplifier Analog Output Precision Module
 http://s.aliexpress.com/EZRneamU

I know I have to remove the pull up resistor on coolant analog input.... but where do I get power to feed the module.

Can I use a external power source and just connect common ground (sensor ground)

you dont even need to remove pullup, just calibrate it according to your stuff

Ok thanks..... do you know about feeding the module power im not sure that is a good idea to keep putting more things on the vems 5v.

Can I use a external 5v power source and just connect common ground ?

Yes use the analog ground and you can use an external source as long as its all from the car.
