https://www.pnpecu.com/ makes a pnp setup for this. Although you may need to switch some wires around in your x20 connector to get body related stuff working.

Does anyone have experience setting up a M52 VEMS PNP to trigger the AC compressor in a BMW E36?

I'm facing a weird issue when I turn the outputs on in "Test Mode" I can trigger the AC Compressor through low voltage channel 6, but when I actually try to assign that channel and burn it. The car freaks out, rpm gauge bounces around, doesn't crank or start. And I have to revert my changes back.

hello there,

Good luck, they are like gold dust in the UK, i think the best you can do, is look for someone with at least megasquirt knowledge.

I would love to get my car fully sorted, as I've done my best with it, but its not 100%....but hey i can drive it....lol....before the government ban us of the road.

Good luck, and let me know if you find a miracle hiding somewhere.

Wiring & Sensors / Motronic55 to BMW e30 with m20...
Last post by Tzl - March 02, 2022, 11:59:15 AM
Hi!
I would like to replace the ECU in my BMW e30 to Vems Motronic55. Sorry for the amateur questions, but this is my first job of its kind.
My question is, this ECU pinout is 100% compatible with the stock ECU?
It can manage the extra things in addition to general things? I mean:
- outputs:  fuel pump relay, the main relay, the O2 sensor relay, the idle controller coils, the evaporator canister valve, tacho and econometer output for the cluster, MIL lamp,
- Inputs: A/C signals, throttle endswitch, Cylinder ID sensor, anti-theft input?
And in this ECU I/O points are configured to the corresponding type, direction and power?

Thank you.

Hello
I have a MK! Golf with a 2.0 16V racing car which we run in endurance racing series in the California, Oregon and Washington states. At the moment it is on VW ABF management. I am using an ABF intake manifold, Piper rally grind cams and Techtonics Tuning 4 into 1 exhaust manifold.
I obtained a used VEMS V3, serial # 4826, from an autowrecker in Vancouver which had previously been used on an Audi A4 1.8T. So I want to see if I can get the VEMS to work better than the ABF.
It did not have a cam position sensor, knock sensor or idle control valve and I want to add  these to the set up. First issue is locating the correct electrical terminals to add wiring to the 18 & 36 pin ECU connectors. Does anyone know the part number for these teminals?
Any advice help would be apprecicated greatly.

Hi has anyone set up a strain gauge using the v3 standalone. Anyone have any info or wiring diagram on how. Which wires on the harness they used. The car is a vr6 turbo with a plug and play harness. I know i need to add wire to the harness just don't want to make an error. Thank you
any analog input, and to properly use it it would be nice to have newer fw.. vems itself never released p&p vr6 harness so you need to check your pinout if you have one.
