1980 Toyota Corolla Vems/4age install
« on: January 26, 2007, 04:01:14 pm »
Hi all

My name is Adam and I am installing a 4age 1.6 16v engine into my 4door 1980 Corolla! :D

Up until now, the project has been slow but I have got the boring worg of making the car rust proof and can start building it all back up! :)

I am using a import, 1983 Toyota Levin as a doner car for all my running gear and was going to install it all on the std management but I got hold of a set of aftermarket ITB so I need VEMS!! :D

Ok here we go.

so take 1 1980, grandad owned Corolla with 25k.

a 1983 Levin for all the running gear

Get down and sort out the ke70 ready for the transplant!

get rid of the std carb 4k engine and its 70bhp.....

strip the running gear.....

get rid of any 'crusty' bits and make it like new with new seam sealer and ha lick of read oxide paint....

Get rid of old poly bushes...

apply some protective stone chip paint.......

Fit ae86 rear axel and TRD 2 way diff, along with a set of TRD 8 way adjustabe shocks and adj panard rod and all ne rear poly bushes....

little sneak peek of the car as I want it to sit...

Thats me so far with the project but now I am preping the engine bay for a lick of paint and  then I can start putting the front end together.  more pics as they come! :D and thank for looking, please leave any comments :)
