Sylva Stylus - 2.0 Duratec
« on: September 30, 2013, 10:03:28 pm »
Built my car originally in 2006 with a 2.0 Pinto, running VEMS initially with ZZR1200 carbs, then GSXR1000 TBs, this lasted until May 2011 when the cambelt slipped at 6000rpm while mapping it on a local dual carriage way, this introduced the cylinders to the valves and totalled the engine.

So out came the Pinto:

And in went a Duratec:

Pretty standard except DICE ITB's, stainless manifold and big blue injectors:

Big old airbox and filter tucked into the wing

After a couple of false starts, one melted VEMS and a couple of coil packs, it achieved 217bhp on the  rollers:

I have since run it at Prescott Hill climb on a Retro Rides Run What You Bring day, with a passenger I got consistent times of 57secs

I am now in the process of refining the map as while its mad flat out in traffic it is hard work...
