Low impedance LPG injectors
« on: January 15, 2014, 06:23:40 am »
Hello All,

My car has been running nicely for some time, and am I starting to look at the possibility of converting to LPG.

I'm still looking at information on converting to liquid propane injection. But to date, there are NO systems where I can just purchase the injectors, and pump/tank to be able to set up the system myself. So I may be stuck with gas injection.

However even with gas injection, I MAY be forced to run with 16 injectors  :o to get the power levels (1,000bhp) that I would like to be able to achieve.
The majority of the injectors are 2 ohm, some as low as 1.5 ohm. I purchased the system with the highZ flyback. But don't have a problem doing either the lowZ flyback board, or just putting an inline resistor. I see reference to the 50W resistor. But what ohm is that? Will this work for a 2 ohm injector?

Cheers!
Colin

You can't use resistors with LPG injectors.
You need low-Z boards. Also, yes you can buy injectors separately on ebay.
What car do you have? 1000HP?
I run around 300HP on 2.0 liter enegine on LPG for more than 100 000km on vems.

The engine is a turbocharged Porsche 928S4 with big cams.

I will order up the board when I get closer to doing this then.

Cheers!
