ECU going back to blocking injectors and ignition on occasions

I have a customer who on occasions gets his ECU stuck in lock mode as you get after a firmware change, it´s so likely now that I can´t take the car without having a laptop to flash in the latest map so he doesn´t get stuck anywhere, firmware change has not resolved this, what possible options are their that can cause this?

Hello Gunni,

There are several ways the ecu can go into SAFE mode: if prohibit bytes and firmware mismatch (to disable all outputs before config load on firmware upgrade), manual enabling or when ibutton is enabled and correct ibutton code not yet seen.

Could you making a sharing report having both the config in ecu when it forces itself into SAFE mode and the correct config (from laptop) to see what is going on there ? Also please provide hints on firmware used.
