Its written for Microsoft Windows Mobile Version so it will only run on a PC using an emulator.
They got it running on some extremely cheap PDAs

Hi,
I've already got a PC running in the car, so I'll have to give the emulator a go!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Here's a link to Windows Mobile 5 Emulator: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=EEC33AE3-C129-4C25-ABAA-18E8E842178F&displaylang=en

No idea how it all works though.

Hi,
Sprocket is using the large LCD.
There's the PDA setup.
I'll be using Megatune on a dash mounted 12" TFT  ::)
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Bigger LCD together with non-geek mode is a very cheap dash candidate. I plan this kind of solution for my racecar. Could use some 10,4 inch XGA LCD display with docked small laptop if we get TunerStudio that supports VEMS though.

They're doing the Round gauges as displays now (without the Wideband and EGT electronics) which use the AiM protocol to display the values from the VEMS ecu.

Yeah, I know that but I'd like to have MXL dash alike thing. PDAcockpit is the closest thing to that, but big LCD display with non-geek mode is much better as it doesn't require additional computer in the car.

Hi,
I've seen nice displays that run on can bus. I can't find any info as to weather they got the can bus running on VEMs.
The pins are on the board, but no conclusion on the wiki....
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Rob - this is very interesting. I have recently completed development on a Windows CE touch screen product for security/automation, and want to gauge interest in using it for a dash / tuning handset. Are the guys who did the PDA software interested in sharing it to develop it further?
I am keen to get a prototype working, and then if people like it I can provide the VEMS community with a source of these touch screens?

its a 5.7" VGA touch screen, 12VDC powered so easy to hook up

Hi guys

I think that the Wince would be a great solution because there is many cheep Lcd´s on the marked also I have testing some Navigations 7” multimedia units and it could be great if we have all functions in one unit like radio, navi, dvd, phone, and Vems.

A guy I Denmark has made an application in Windows visual studio (c#) for Ms phone and pda using communication via blue tooth add some pictures.

Regards Peter

That looks really great too Peter. I am about to start on my own application but if someone is interested in collaborating it should yield a better result for all?

I can't commit to anything but I have some C++ and C# code that provides a data model for the MegaTune protocol
