BMW M62 Strange trigger issue 60-2

HI,

I got replaced ECU and engine wiring. Now I have 3 cylinders (1,2,3) instead of 8. I beep cabling, also test by testing mode for fuel and spark. All seems to be ok just 5 cylinders don't have power.
I found that when engine is running I am "loosing "primary trigger signal in strange way.  When I am doing trigger record just with starter, issue is not visible at all. Actually I tried it in these variations:

Any suggestions where to look ?

you are not loosing anything... you are using 19200 baud rate to log trigger, it's enough for cranking to display everything, but not enough when engine is working, that's why your trigger log looks bad, as I understand engine works fine.. anyway if you want capture trigger log on working engine then select bigger connection speed in ecu/preferences

OK would have sense. However the engine is running with 3 cylinders only so I have obviously some issue that I have to found.

But I am using file that was tested, actually tuned on dyno, I had just that Idle valve shortcut issue caused by overload that leads to ECU replacement. But because that time it was my custom case I decide to keep VEMS case and use wiring adapter. Actually I did another engine wiring loom from new M5 OEM loom.

I did wrong order (just one wide band, but need two so I did some soldering for the second one, actually I convert new board regarding previous)

Result is that I have spark if I want, have gas if I want, but 5 cylinders are not running ( some spark plugs are dry, some visibly burned but with no power) ... engine is shaking and can't hold idle just with 3 cylinders :D

And when you see it ... one side is not burning at all ... and 4. cylinder is not burned from other side. I didn't found any common reason only assumption that I have is that it not spray fuel because it "don't want to"

just check your injectors first :)) they will be dirty as fuck

I did it few days a go, verify fuel with test mode with fuel pump running and it sprays like new (was cleaned in previous year). It is why I said that fuel is working when needed.

Also I don't smell fuel when engine is running .. you know like fuel without spark, and also spark plugs are dry( cleaned it to see if there is burn, or no burn or weak burn .. but it stays clear and dry)

Can you identify which cylinders arenĀ“t running and in which manner? lack of fuel or ignition.
Have you wired them as wasted or sequential?

Hi,

I have update. Spent lot of time to double check wiring grounding etc and results are.

Yes I have dirty fuel system by rusty fuel pipe, dirty injectors etc.  Issue persist after cleanup pipe replaced etc.

I seen all injectors working during cranking but when engine running side 5-8 was without fuel.  Reason was that I had mapped half of cylinders to WBO1 and other half to WBO2. as I had issue with second WBO channel I set dual EGO to disabled which obviously disengage all injectors belong to second WBO channel. So it was mix of issues but finally solved as general issue now I can continue where I stack two months ago :D


Also as this was found as injection issue not spark this topic would be moved to injection section I suppose
