VEMS EAW-52 power glitches
« on: June 24, 2018, 08:28:32 pm »
Hi there,

I am new here and have two questions.
I am using a round controller for a two stroke engine with an LSU 4.2 sensor as well as the Vems EGT sensor. All is wired up with a rather tiny 2,5Ah gel battery (no more space for a bigger one).
Heavily tuned 2-stroke engines can be a bit tricky, so I want to check the temperature (EGT) and adjust the carburettor reading AFR/Lambda values whilst riding the beast.
Its all wired up and the sensor is heating up fine. But when I did the first ride around the block I noticed that the power of the controller drops out at higher rpm for a second. So the display goes black for this second.
All other 12V devices (speedo, indicators, USB power) seems to be working without any glitches.
Any ideas what this could be ?

As I am a bit of a newbie to this whole Lambda stuff and rather clueless I have also a question regarding VemsTune.
Do I need to adjust any of the wideband settings etc. in the software or are the default settings all good ?
The main display I have already adjusted.

Any advice is highly appreciated !

Harry

Checked all the wiring but still the same problem.  :(
I‘ll do a short video next week and post it.
Hope someone can help.

Maybe you don't have enough power for the lambda heating...

Try with lambda unplugged.
