Forum Restrictions
« on: January 31, 2019, 06:26:21 pm »
Any particular reason that I can't post to any of the forum topics other than this one?
I was able to start a thread in the configuration topic area about 2 days ago and now nothing...
I can't reply to anyone...
I can't start a new topic anywhere other than here....

I know this is the wrong section but it's my only means of communication it seems.
So what's up?

I changed the forum setup and requirements for new users so I have to approve the first post, as you saw earlier. You'll probably notice a ton of Russian (my guess) spam. I'm trying to eliminate that without impacting useful people like yourself too much. I missed a setting in the group you get moved to after an approved post where you should be good to go forever. I've found and changed that, so you should be good to go. Feel free to PM me if you can't post still. Or reply here works too.

Sorry about that, I take 100% responsibility on that one. :D

Ok, that makes a lot more sense. I assumed I ruffled someone's feathers for asking a stupid/repeat question  :P

Looks like I cant post either, anywhere else but here.

If someone can take a look and see if I have been added to the naughty list by mistake.

thanks

Hi Scott, You definitely weren't added to the naughty list. I did some more work to try to keep the spammers out. So I have to approve the first post of a new account. I really didn't want to do that because it's not a great user experience, but the spammers really suck.

I don't see a post requiring moderation from you, so I may have gotten another setting messed up again. I'll take a look at the group permissions and memberships. Though if you have a post count >1 it's supposed to just work according to the SMF tutorial I followed. *shrug*

Ok, awesome. And I made a new ID to test and the first post was sent to moderation. So I think things may be smooth now. Sorry about that hiccup.
