sd card logging
« on: July 27, 2018, 01:48:51 pm »
hello all,

its been over 4 years now since I've played with my VEMS, due to new engine & gearbox taking time to rebuild.

Finally taken the car out for a quick run around the block.

Formatted the SD card from vemstune, set "start logging" and drove around the block, about 9mins running time.

Getting back, and looking at the memory card in vemstune, i can only see a triggerlog, not a vemslog.

Am i doing something wrong, or do i have an incorrect setting somehwere?

The vems triggerlog wont even open when i try to use the "analyse triggerlog file" in vemstune.

Its a VEMS supplied memory card and external card interface....that did work 4 years ago of course.

cheers

scott

upgraded my ECU to V1.2.38 fimware just before i started it, it was running V1.2.30....last time i had the memory card logging working.

So maybe a firmware problem?.

Is there any other way to test it without starting the car?

really need it working before i drive it anymore.

thanks
scott

You have to erase the card when you change firmware.

yep I did the stop logging, erase card, start logging procedure after installing the new firmware.

Logging was working last time I had the engine working 3 years ago under 1.2.30 firmware though.

I've just put the card in my computer, deleted the volume, then formatted the card as FAT, I'll see if logging is any better, later today when I run the engine again.

Funny though how the triggerlog on the card, although it read it, there was no useable data, when vems opened it.

regards

I'm still struggling with this, I can only get a triggerlog to the SD card when the engines running.....

Even when I open this in vemstune is blank, or nothing shows up...….

Not to mention the GPS isn't working either....but one thing at a time.

Im trying to get my car driveable, but don't really want to travelling around with my laptop on the front seat, and this is not helping...…

Using latest vemstune & 1.3.38 firmware, done all the usual format & start loggings...….

Was working when I used 1.3.31....

any help appreciated, before I lose my mind.
thanks

ran my engine again.....no log file on the SD card only a useless triggerlog.

Even when the settings say "SD card trigger log - Disabled"

Is there any help for this?

I want to get my car on the road, but its pointless with this feature working.

thanks
