Nissan Skyline Gts-t Rb25 running Holset hx35 and Vems
« on: December 08, 2008, 11:43:23 pm »
Hey there.

I´m an Icelander that is working on upgrades on my Skyline and wanted to share with you my project.

This is a 1997 Nissan Skyline GTs-t with the Rb25 engine and I am going to be running a Holset HX35 with Vems.

What I´ve done so far is the basic stuff: FMIC install, custom made headers that I´m about to finish and ripping the car to bits.

I think I did not go the easiest way in upgrading my car but I think I will value the car more when I´m finished.

First off some pics:

1. The turbo. Holset HX35 bought from the USA. This is how it looked when I got it.

2. This is how it looked after I refurbished it. Standing next to the original one.

3. FMIC. Removed bumper. Removed original SMIC put the new one in and made some holes for the piping.

4. FMIC fitted and front bumper fitted to the new FMIC.

5. Next on the list was exhaust headers. I decided to design and make my own. Oboy!

The exhaust flange:

Ended up like this:

Next up was the Collector:

Then came the piping.

This is where I´m at now. The exhaust headers are almost ready and I´ve started to work on a custom made intake plenum as well.
I will bring pictures of that soon enough.

So this is a short introduction of my work and my car. I´ve bought bunch of stuff that I will show later on this thread. But for now this will have to do.

Hope you like

Thanks for that.

Finished designing the Intake manifold yesterday. This is roughly how it´s going to look

And finished the exhaust headers

look´s like it´s going to be a busy weekend :S

p.s. Yeah I know the pipes are not equal length. No need to mention it.

HOly flaming whale scrotums, your CnC work is shockingly fantastic!  Er.. how bout some kit for a twin turbo v8?
Audi ABZ 4.2 V8 in 1993 90 quattro
TTV 60-2 flywheel and cam sync
firmware: 1.2.20

Smurf blue (BMW Laguna Seca), hence the name!

Great project and loving your machining work. I'll be keeping an eye on this as I fancy putting VEMs into my skyline as well.

Well we drove this bad boy tonight.

Stepper for ignition
P259 ch7 must be on to turn on the stepper in this firmware.

To bad the thermostat is very likely extremely stuck after sitting for a year.
Also a little water leak that needs fixing.

Will be mapping this car literally on the way to the airport before I got home ..!!

The car is running now and working at 0.7 bar boost so far, but I got a little problem

I have a problem with my rev meter and hicas light.

I just finished a run on it and was about to stop the car when the engine died. it fired right up but the hicas light was on and the rev meter died and has been like that ever since.

Does anyone of you guru´s know anything about this problem?
