What should the tachometer divider be for a 36-1 crank wheel? Having trouble understanding the tachometer divider. I'm sure I could dial it in with my scope and guesswork but it would be preferable to understand the theory. Thanks in advance.
no, your trigger have no relation with tacho pulses, only cylinder number does
Thanks, I've been trying to 'backwards engineer' numbers but nothing makes sense. What do these numbers mean in the divider area? Are they call out for a script or are they the actual integer involved in the math?
A divider of 16 is 1:1 mapping. 1 pulse per revolution. That allows adjustment up or down if you need to do something weird such as use a 8cyl tach on a 4cyl engine, etc.
